HTTP Transaction

HTTP Transaction

An HTTP transaction is the complete exchange between a client and a server, usually consisting of one HTTP request followed by one HTTP response.

It represents a single communication cycle used by browsers, APIs, applications, proxies, and web data tools.

How Does an HTTP Transaction Work?

A basic HTTP transaction follows this sequence:

  1. The client sends an HTTP request.
  2. The server receives and processes it.
  3. The server returns an HTTP response.
  4. The client reads the response.

A simplified flow looks like:

Client Request
     ↓
Server Processing
     ↓
Server Response
     ↓
Client
